After some morning calls, I went downstairs after a morning call to wait for my Fedex delivery from B&H. The Fedex guy said he was glad I was home. Me too. :) I signed for the package, but didn't open it until the evening. I was gradulation. The Blackmagic camera is massive, but also feels like a relative bargain at $1300 (technically minus the $300 for Resolve Studio that it comes with).

Not a ton of bells and whistles. It comes with a battery (which is the same as one of my Canon DSLRs), a power adapter with a lacking jack and several International plugs, and a license for Davinci Resolve Studio. So effectively it's $1000. For 4kp60 raw video I think it's a bargain.

I also got a Sirui anamorphic lense. It was only $350 which, again… seems like a bargain.

10 years ago I put in a pre-order for the original Blackmagic Cinema Camera, but cancelled it before it shipped. So now I'm picking it up again, but with a much more capable unit.

Speaking of which, the camera, and the anamorphic lens, are Micro 4/3 mount. I don't have any lenses in that form fact. Some of the bigger Pocket Cinema cameras can take Canon EF lenses. However, I was able to pick up two cheap adaptors from Amazon that support EF lenses and also FD! I have some interesting lenses in that form factor that I want to try out, including my 50mm f1.2 L lens, a 17mm f4 (which should still be equivalent to a respectible 34mm), and a tilt and shift lens. Lots to try out, and I will be over the next few days…
